How cMe works
cMe enables real-time location sharing within groups by using GPS to track and synchronize each member’s position. Through dynamic group types and customizable privacy zones, users can control who sees what—striking the perfect balance between connection and privacy. Whether you're coordinating family safety or planning an outdoor adventure, cMe lets you view detailed location history, complete with timestamps, to better understand past movements. Group-based public chat further enhances team communication, making it ideal for hiking, traveling, or organizing events. cMe is designed with power and data efficiency in mind. By intelligently detecting movement and syncing only when needed, the app minimizes GPS and bandwidth usage—making it the perfect companion for extended outdoor use, whether you're staying connected with loved ones or embarking on long-term adventures.
To use cMe, users must register with accurate and truthful information to facilitate future account recovery. An email verification is required during registration, and each account must be linked to a unique and valid email address, which serves as the user's primary identifier in the cMe system.
To protect user privacy, cMe allows users to define preset safe locations. These, combined with a configurable privacy radius, help prevent location exposure outside of designated groups like family groups.
Users can create various types of groups, including family groups, friend groups, enthusiast(special) groups, and temporary groups. Each group type is designed to balance privacy and sharing according to different use cases.
Users can join existing groups by entering a valid invitation code to enable real-time location sharing among group members.
Group members can communicate efficiently using the built-in group chat feature, which enhances coordination during group activities.
Group administrators can assign new admins, manage group members, and dissolve the group. Members can choose whether to share their real-time or historical location data within the group, or opt to leave the group at any time.
cMe records location history, allowing members to review past routes. Users can choose how long to retain historical data. Paid subscribers can access up to 15 days of history. In summary mode, users can see the complete track connecting the start and end points.
Dive deeper into location history by zooming in on the map. Unlock precise movement details and timestamp insights with a simple tap on each marker.
The application provides essential real-time data for each group member. In avatar mode, users can view each member’s avatar, group nickname, real-time location, battery level, and current speed, offering a clearer understanding of the group’s overall situation.
Stay informed with real-time insights: orientation mode shows each group member’s nickname, location, speed, and movement direction—giving you a complete and clear view of the group’s dynamics.
Users can delete their personal data themselves through the in-app Settings menu. If any issues arise, users may send a deletion request from their registered email to info@cmetech.ca for identity verification and confirmation. Once a deletion is initiated—either by the user or through a confirmed request—all personal data will be permanently erased and cannot be recovered. Only public group chat records will be anonymized and retained for integrity purposes.
