Who Can See My Location?

Category: Privacy & Security

Platforms: All

Only members who are in the same group as you, meet the current access requirements, and fall within what your sharing settings allow can see your location.

Main Factors Affecting Visibility

  • Whether you've turned on real-time location sharing.
  • Whether you've turned on sharing individually in that group.
  • Whether the other person is still a valid member of the same group.
  • The group type and privacy address rules.
  • Whether you allow location-history sharing.
  • Whether the other person has Dashboard or other related access.

Joining a group doesn't mean you have to share your location. You can:

  • Turn off real-time location sharing entirely;
  • Turn off sharing in just one group;
  • Turn off location-history sharing separately;
  • Use a privacy address to protect sensitive locations;
  • Leave groups you no longer need.

cMe should not let ordinary users outside your groups directly view your location. If your account, device, or invitation information is obtained by someone else, there is still risk, so protect your password, don't publicize a still-valid invitation code, and leave groups you no longer need promptly.

Tip

Periodically review your group member lists and sharing settings, especially after a trip, event, or Temporary Group has ended.
